SAN MARCOS – For the first time this season the No. 19 ranked Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team was on the short end of a CCAA series, dropping the final two games by the scores of 9-4 and 14-7.
After the road trip, the Otters move to 18-10 overall and 14-6 in conference play.
GAME 3 | CSUSM 9 – CSUMB 4
The Otters banged out 15 hits but could not cash in, falling to the Cougars, 9-4 on Saturday.
Five different Otters tallied a multi-hit game as
Cole Murchison led the way with a 3-for-5 effort at the plate.

Sergio Solis and
Evan Stauch tallied two hits apiece.
CSUMB seized the early lead but gave up six runs in the final three innings to drop the contest.
GAME 4 | CSUSM 14 – CSUMB 7
The Otters once again out-hit the Cougars but could not secure the series finale, falling 14-7 on Sunday.

Brady Miguel and
JJ Engman all went deep for CSUMB as Engman and Miguel both tallied three hits. Engman drove in three and scored twice.
CSUMB will return home to host Cal State LA. The series will begin on Thursday, March 28, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
