SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team got back to action for the first time in two weeks on Saturday as they headed to the Santa Clara Mini Tournament.
After giving the Broncos a good battle at the Otter Tank earlier this season, the Otters got off to a blazing start by scoring the games first three goals to take a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter. However, CSUMB allowed an 8-0 run by Broncos and only score twice more in the final three quarters en route to a 5-10 loss to SCU.
Things didn't easier in the afternoon game against the 13th-ranked Aggies of UC Davis. The Otters collected two first-quarter goals, but it was all Aggies from there, leading to a 2-16 loss.
After a hat trick against Santa Clara,
Tatiana Veloso (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) added a solo goal against UCD giving her four on the day.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT... Monterey Bay will play four games next weekend at the Claremont Convergence Tournament. The Otters will battle University of Redlands and University of La Verne on Friday, March 3.
