HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team fell 88-69 to the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay on Saturday night.
Freshman #Davion Berry# led the Otters with 18 points, nine coming from the charity stripe. Freshman #Brandon Ward# posted 16 points while Senior#
Sean Jergo# added 15 points.
After trailing 42-33 at the break, the Otters opened the second half 8-2 run to cut the Pioneers' lead to 44-41 capped by a Jergo 3-pointer.
CSUEB out-rebounded the Otters, 39-29.
The Pioneers were led by Saeed Gatson with 16 points while Frankie McWirt and Melvin Flemings added 12 points each.
The Otters return to the Kelp Bed on Friday, Jan. 22, hosting Cal State San Bernardino at 7:30 p.m.
