SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team saw its historic season come to an end on Friday, falling to the Broncos of Cal Poly Pomona, 61-47, at the Otter Sports Center.
Junior #Janet Oseguera# led the Otters with 12 points. Junior #Helen Suarez# added 11 points and three assists. Senior #Dana Andrews# pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
In her last basketball game at the Kelp Bed, Andrews came out on fire by scoring the first four points and giving the Otters a quick 4-0 lead.
Back-to-back 3-pointers by sophomre #LaShawn Johnson# gave the Otters a 19-13 lead at 6:02 mark.
The Broncos battled back in the last few minutes, tying the game at 23-23 at the break.
With 16:40 remaining, CPP went on a 10-0 run to pull away from the Otters.
CSUMB closed the gap to four points on an Oseguera jumper at the 7:25 minute mark.
The Otters (11-15, 6-14 CCAA) broke the program's record of most wins in a single season, achieving 11 under head coach
