SEASIDE, Calif. – Senior #Eva Arzola#'s second goal of the season was not enough to top Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team over No. 3 UC San Diego as the Titans earned a 2-1 victory on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Otter Soccer Complex.  The Otters drop to 0-5-1 (0-2 CCAA) on the season.

The two offenses started out slow in the first half, compiling just three shots each.  The second half proved to be a different story.

The Tritons scored three minutes into the last 45-minutes on a direct kick by freshman Sara Bolton.  UCSD raised their lead to 2-0 in the 63rd minute on a rebound by Sarah McTigue. 

In the 75th minute, junior #Sarah Alderson# took a shot that was stopped by UCSD goalkeeper Jessica McGovern. Arzola followed in for the rebound and chipped the ball to the back of the net to close in on the Triton's lead.  

"Considering the tough schedule we faced this week, the team played well and put away some good goals but just couldn't get ahead," said head coach Erin Roberts.

The Otters begin a two-game road trip on Friday, Sept. 14 against Humboldt State University.  Kick-off is at 4:30 p.m. in Arcata, Calif.
