Greg Harrod brought extensive experience to the Otter Athletics compliance office when he joined the raft in 2014, having served as a compliance coordinator at the NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III levels. Most recently, he served as assistant athletics director for compliance at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.

After serving his first 18 months in Otter blue and gold as CSUMB’s compliance coordinator, he was promoted to assistant athletic director for compliance and student services in March of 2016.

Harrod cut his teeth in compliance working at Northwestern (La.) State after earning his master's degree in athletic counseling at Springfield College in 1992. He went on to serve as compliance coordinator at Division I member Southeastern Louisiana for seven years before switching hats to become the director of football operations at New Mexico State. He made the move to a similar role at Texas and McMurry in 2009 before returning to the administrative side as assistant A.D. in 2011.

Harrod earned a B.S. in psychology from Pittsburg State, where he won an NCAA Division II title as a member of the Gorillas 4x100 meter relay team. He earned multiple All–America awards as a collegiate student–athlete.

He earned a second master's degree, this time in business administration, from the University of New Orleans in 2001.
