Alexis Martinez is in his first full season as an assistant coach for the Otters. Martinez reunites with CSUMB head coach Graeme Jaap as he played four seasons at Rollins College while Jaap was part of The Tars coaching staff.
Martinez coached at California high school powerhouse De La Salle for two seasons and was the head coach of the Mustang Soccer Club located in Danville. He was also the technical trainer at the Florida Kraze Krush Soccer Club and coached at Oviedo High School.
After his collegiate career at Rollins College, Martinez played for the Orlando City U23s and played in the professional ranks for Tuxtla FC in the Liga Premier Mexico Serie A.
Martinez holds a degree in psychology from Rollins College and earned a Masters in sports psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology from John F. Kennedy University.
