DOWNEY, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay senior Tilda Kvarnrud carded a 3-under 68 to race up the leaderboard and win the LA Spring Kickoff individual title with a 36-hole score of even-par 142. The Otters finished sixth overall at 48-over.
 
The medalist honor is a career first for the Sweden native and her final round score of 68 is her second best while at CSUMB.

"Great team effort in this tournament," head coach Jim Ragan said. "Tilda picked up right where she left off last fall with her outstanding play. She made an eagle on her last hole to win the individual title by two strokes. Mia had a great tournament as well finishing sixth. Morgan and Veronica hung in there on a difficult golf course and gained a lot of valuable experience while both contributing to our team's success this week. A good start to the spring season!"

Kvarnrud had only one blemish on her scorecard and sank two birdies and eagled the par-5 third. She closed the tournament with a back-nine score of 2-under 33.
 
Mia Golovich recorded a top-10 finish as she placed sixth overall with a 5-over 147. Golovich carded a final round score of 3-over 74.
 
Morgan Pittman placed 47^th at 16-over and Veronica Cantu-Maher placed 73^rd at 27-over.
 
The Otters return to action on Feb. 24 for the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout held at the Corica Park South Course.
