ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team placed seventh overall on the final day of the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Tuesday at the Corica Park Golf Course.
The Otters carded a 36-over for the two rounds with a final score of 8-over 296.
"Overall, it was a good round today," CSUMB head coach
Jim Ragan said. "It was a great team effort with Mia leading the way. She had it going early and played exceptionally well. Tilda didn't have her best but was still able to post a good score for the team. Veronica's hard work and determination came through today. She is a welcome addition to our team. Morgan is right on the edge of shooting some low scores."
Sophomore
Mia Golovich used an even-par 72 to finish tied for 14
th at 5-over 149 for the tournament.
Senior
Tilda Kvarnrud placed 25
th at 7-over 151 and used a 2-over 74 to improve her standing. Newcomer
Morgan Pittman was consistent in both rounds to finish T35th at 9-over 153 and sophomore
Veronica Cantu-Maher posted a 2-over in the final round to place T62nd.
The Otters will return to the course when they head to the Fujikura Invitational. The invite will be held at the Shadow Ridge Golf Club on March 10-11.
