SEASIDE, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay senior Josh Eagle (Antioch/Sierra College) tossed the program's first no hitter in the Otters' 4-0 series finale over Cal State San Bernardino.  With a 3-2 victory in Sunday's doubleheader opener, the Otters completed a 4-game series sweep over the Coyotes.

Eagle struck out four and walked two while the Otter defense made one error.  Of the three base runners, none of them got in scoring position.

"I am really proud of the way our team has come together and continued to compete," said Head Coach Walt White. "Josh gave us an outstanding performance. For not knowing he would start until 30 minutes before game time, josh went out and threw an incredibly efficient no hitter. He was pounding the strike zone and had everything working.

"That's a pretty good way to cap off a well played series."

Junior Ty Morris (Royal Oaks/North Monterey County HS) and freshman Josh Heinz (Santa Clarita/West Ranch HS) each collected four hits on the day.  Morris knocked out two doubles and a two-run home run.

The Otters conclude their 2014 season with a split series against Cal State Stanislaus next weekend, beginning with a single game on Friday, May 2 in Turlock.

GAME 1: CSUMB 3, CSUSB 2
Morris began the game with his first of two consecutive doubles, advanced to third on a balk and plated on a ground out by sophomore Matt Urakami (San Jose/Branham HS).

The Coyotes snagged the lead away with two runs on four singles in the top of the fourth.

Morris once again came up big for CSUMB, crushing a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh after Jason Brady (Campbell/West Valley College) reached on a dropped ball by a CSUSB outfielder.

Senior Chris Daniels (Citrus Heights/Sierra College) picked up the win after throwing eight innings, allowing only two runs on seven hits.  Junior Jeff Owen (Clovis East HS) collected his second save of the season.

GAME 2: CSUMB 4, CSUSB 0
CSUMB opened the third inning with back-to-back singles by Brady and Morris.  The Otters took advantage of CSUSB's two errors on a single play by scoring two runs that began with an attempted sacrifice bunt by Urakami.

CSUMB's final run came in the fifth on a Heinz's RBI single after senior Mark Hurley (Hollister/College of San Mateo) hit a leadoff single.

Note: CSUMB's Jeff Owen has flirted with a no-hitter on two occiasions in 2012, resulting in an one hitter in both occasions (at UC San Diego, March 10/vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills, April 21).
