SEASIDE, Calif. – SEASIDE, Calif. – Sixth inning rally in Saturday's nightcap granted the Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team a split with visiting Cal State East Bay at the Otter Sports Complex. After dropping game one 7-4, the Otters held on to a 3-2 win on the backend of the twinbill.
 
Both teams finished the day with 15 hits apiece with the losing team having a one-hit lead over the winning team of each game.
 
The Otters registered five stolen bases in the two contests with junior Brian Hamm (Pleasanton/Chabot College) taking claim as the CCAA leader with three for a total of 17 this season.  
 
The Otters and Pioneers conclude the four-game series on Sunday, April 13 in Hayward. First pitch is at noon. 

GAME 1: CSUEB 7, CSUMB 4
The Otters put together a two-run rally in the bottom of the eighth to even the game at four runs apiece after back-to-back RBI doubles by Blake Grant-Parks and pinch hitter Kaden Kamoe (Aiea, Hawaii/Univ. of Hawaii).  
 
CSUEB answered with a three-run top of the ninth to clinch the doubleheader opener.
 
The Pioneers began the game with two runs on two hits in the first inning.
 
Racking up doubles in his first two at bats, senior Mark Hurley (Hollister/College of San Mateo) drove in CSUMB's first run in the bottom of the frame. 
 
Both teams put up a run in the fifth on fielder's choices.
 
In the seventh, CSUEB extended its lead to 4-2 on Marcus Williams' single after Ryan Kochan reached on a CSUMB error to began the inning. 
 
Starter Josh Eagle got a no decision after giving up three runs in five innings and striking out two batters. 

GAME 2: CSUMB 3, CSUEB 2
Once again, the Pioneers took a quick 2-0 lead on the Otters but this time CSUMB answered swiftly with single runs in the second and third innings.
 
Kamoe, who went 3-for-4 on the day, led off the sixth with a single through the left side.  He then stole second and advanced to third on freshman Josh Heinz's infield ground out.  Kamoe scored the winning run on senior Jason Brady's ()single up the middle.
 
Both starters tossed complete games with A.J. Quintero coming out with a win, giving up only two runs – one earned – and striking out three batters.  CSUEB's Ben O'Bryan dropped to 3-4 after relinquishing three runs off six hits.
