ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team fell to Sonoma State University, 15-1 and 6-2 in the nightcap for the double header of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match-up.
The two teams will face off back at Seawolf Diamond, Sunday at 11 a.m. for the conclusion of the CCAA contest.
GAME 1

Sonoma jumped on the board in the bottom of the second. The inning got started with a walk that advanced to second on a wild pitch from the Otters. The only hit of the inning came at the right time for the Seawolves with a single through the right side pushing across one run.
The Seawolves opened it up in the bottom of the fourth. The inning started with a home run over the left field fence.
The Otters got on the board with one swing off the bat of freshmen #Alex Mangubat# took the 1-2 pitch over the left field wall.
Combining two walk and two hits, the Seawolves added four runs to the tally.
Senior catcher #Joey Friedman# went 2-for-4 for the Otters.
Sonoma had fourteen hits in the win over the Otters in the opening game.
GAME 2

The Otters jumped on the board first in the nightcap. In the top of the third, senior #Jason Okamoto# and freshman #Nolan Murray# hit back-to-back singles through the right side to start the run for the Otters. CSUMB capitalized on a throwing error by Sonoma's second baseman to make the score 1-0.
Senior #Ryan Chagonjian# drove a hard hit ball back up the middle. Mangubat put down a sacrifice bunt to advance Chagonjian to second. Freshman #Thomas George# singled up the middle to score Chagonjian to give the Otters another run.
Sonoma's five hits came in the bottom of the sixth, leading the Seawolves to score all six of their runs.
Senior right-handed pitcher #Justin Aguilera# held the Seawolves through his 5.1 innings, only giving up two hits and striking out four. George went 2-for-2 with one run scored.
The Otters out hit the Seawolves 6-5.
