SEASIDE, Calif. –Junior #Jacob Flores# went 3-for-3 with a double, but it was not enough as the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters were blanked by the Golden Eagles of Cal State L.A., 7-0, Sunday at the Otter Baseball Field. 

The Golden Eagles won the four-game series with three wins.

CSUMB starter #Michael Trump# (0-5) took the loss, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five batters in six innings of work.

CSULA scored the game's first run on the third pitch of the game, a home run by leadoff batter Matt Miraldi.

The Golden Eagles put up another run in the second on a RBI single by Chris Lloyd.

In the seventh, CSULA broke through for four runs.  With the bases loaded, Travis Tartamella hit a RBI single through the left side after CSUMB walked in three runs.

The Golden Eagles added another run in the eighth on two hits.

Junior #Ryan Chagonjian# went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Otters

Flores raised his batting average from .261 to .311 after going 8-for-11 with three doubles in the four-game series.

CSUMB hosts Cal Baptist University on Tuesday, April 7, at the Otter Baseball Field. The non-conference game begins at 2:30 p.m.
