HAYWARD, Calif
. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team dropped a 12-2 decision against Cal State East Bay on Tuesday in a non-conference game.

The Pioneers took a quick 6-0 lead by scoring three runs in both the first and second inning.

The Otters scored a single run in the fourth when leadoff batter #Shea Davis# earned a walk and then took second on a balk by CSUEB's pitcher. Davis scored on two groundouts.

CSUEB added four more runs to the board, three in the fourth inning followed by a single run in the fifth.

Junior #Jerrod Krick# crushed his first homerun of the season to leadoff the seventh inning.

Freshman #Niko Kanakaris# led the Otters with three hits.

The Otters (5-21) hosts Sonoma State in a four-game CCAA series on March 13-15 at the Otter Baseball Field. First pitch is 3 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
