UP NEXT:  The Otters opens up the 2009-10 regular season at the Kelp Bed Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15, hosting the Academy of Art Urban Knights in a 2 p.m. contest.   

LISTEN TO YOUR OTTERS: Sunday's game can be heard live on KION Radio (1460 AM) as Rob Ponce returns to the mic for his seventh season of calling the action with John Berlin on color.  Fans can also watch a live webcast with the audio broadcast on CSUMB's official athletic website, otteratheltics.com.

PAST WEEKEND: CSUMB traveled to San Francisco to take on the University of San Francisco in its final exhibition game.  Despite falling 91-77 to the NCAA Division I team, senior #Keith Wilson# found his stride by scoring a team-high 20 points with freshman #Brandon Ward# chipping in 15 points.

COACH BISHOP'S CORNER: “We are very excited to be playing our home opener this Sunday.  We have played two tough Division I teams in the past two weeks and now we get the opportunity to play against a regional opponent.  If we can keep from being too excited about being at home and just come out and play hard, I think we will have a positive result.  Academy of Art has a new coach and some new players this year so they will be a good challenge for us early in the season to see where we are at”.

THE URBAN KNIGHTS: In the PacWest Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, AAU was selected to finish last out of nine teams. The Urban Knights only recorded four victories last season, two against NAIA Holy Names followed by a sweep over American Sports University.
